Food: California Pizza Kitchen

One thing I love to do is eat. Yeah yeah who doesn't right? Haha. I love pizzas and pastas and meats. However the area where I live don't have much options for foods. Most are Indian, Pakistani and Arabic foods. Don't get me wrong I do like some of their foods, and that's a big thing considering that I am one picky eater and the first concern I had when I came here to Dubai was the food and that there was no pork.

We went to the Mall of Emirates sometime last week to buy a birthday gift for our colleague and I am just happy to indulge in familiar comfort foods I love.

There are so many restaurants to choose from, We first thought of going to Chili's for some steak and mashed potatoes however I was craving for pizza and good thing California Pizza Kitchen is just beside Chili's so off I go to where my stomach is leading me =P Besides I haven't tried eating there so I thought it was the perfect timing.

What it looks inside

There's also a larger area to eat outside but we opted to eat inside.

Here's what we ordered:

Spicy chicken tenders
For appetizer we had Spicy chicken tenders with coleslaw. The chicken tenders are supposed to be bathe in the spicy sauce however since I am not a fan of spicy food, I requested to put the spicy sauce on the side. The chicken are indeed tender and flavorful and filling too. Priced at AED 39

Grilled Steak Pizza

We also ordered the Grilled Steak (AED 55) Was asked if we want it thin crust or regular, we ordered regular but it is still on the thin side. The steak chunks were good and flavorful and the cheese too but I was surprised that the pizza is on the spicy side thanks to the green chilis all over, so I had to remove it. The pizza is good. I am eyeing the Cheeseburger next time I come there.

Carbonara
Of course I had to order pasta. I originally wanted to order Oven Baked Lasagne, I so love love love lasagna and was heart broken when I was told that it's not available at that time because they don't have stock to make it and if I insisted I will have to wait for about an hour, at first I said "Okay, I'll wait and the waitress taking our order was surprised and blurted "really?" but since we were really hungry I decided to go ahead and order Carbonara (AED 52) instead. The serving is HUGE! It's meant for sharing I believe. There were only 2 of us and we were so full after really.

Overall I enjoyed the food and I am giving my 2 thumbs up! Will definitely be going back there and I hope Lasagne will be available by then.
