It was quarter to 11 in the evening and I was getting ready to sleep, then suddenly my flatmates came home from work very excited. They wanted to treat us dinner. Well who would say no to free dinner? =P
Being born in Quezon Province where there's abundance of fresh catch from the sea, it's no surprise that I love seafoods, squid and shrimp particularly, so upon hearing that we will go to a seafood restaurant I can't contain my excitement.
This will greet you at the entrance of the restaurant.
Seafood in a Bucket is a small restaurant along Abu Baker Al Siddique road in Deira.
There's a casual vibes there, great with hanging out with friends.
Dining area at the second floor.
Now let's check the foods:
First up is their drinks. It comes in a huge mason jar And when I say huge it is really HUGE!! Drinks are unlimited but I doubt if one can finish one serving of this. The drink I ordered is watermelon soda.
The foods are served where else? In a bucket of course!
Calamares: squid rings dip in a batter for that lovely crunch bathe in a sweet and sour sauce. The squid inside is quite thin but flavor wise it's good. But there was too much sauce in my opinion, so maybe next time I will ask to put the sauce on the side instead.
Crabs in Garlic Butter Sauce: no need for description as the name says it all. This is tasty also however I didn't get that buttery garlic flavor I was looking for.
We also ordered shrimp in Garlic Butter Sauce and it does taste butter. Forgive me for forgetting to take a picture of it. It also came in a bucket.
Rice are served in a plastic bags, no spoon and fork and you'll eat using your hands. It was a fun experience with friends, we were laughing and telling stories all throughout dinner.
We were really full at the end of our meal. Oh and did I mention that rice is unlimited too?
The foods are affordable so you can't really have high expectation but for the price it does deliver.
Overall I like it and I might come visit again and try the other dishes they offer.
Here's their menu:
