Battling with adult acne

this is how my face looks like before I suffer from pimples

Pimples/acne are common problem by a lot of teens during their puberty age, I am just fortunate enough not to deal with pimples at an early age. But I am not so lucky after all because last year I started having pimples, at first I thought that i was breaking out with the skincare products that I used so I stopped using those, but the pimples persisted, I was so depressed and declined going out :( to make it all worst I also prick my pimples to remove the "eye" and I tell you it's not a good idea (learned it the hard way) so I searched for producst meant to treat adult acne/pimples, I tried dipterin but it made my dry skin drier and haven't noticed any changes or improvement on my face. I stumbled upon a forum site and read testimonials of those who products that helped them lightens their skin and prevented acne from coming back, but I was wary to try out products I haven't heard of so I passed =P.

my bumpy face, acne started to spread

 yikes I know ='(

the other side

I read that one must use an ice cube on their face before using the cleanser so
what I did is that every morning after I wake up I ran a cube of ice on my face then rinse my face with plain water, I did not apply anything on my skin aside from my oil free moisturizer and did not put any make up in a month's time I noticed that my pimples were healed. I still get a pimple or two but at least my face doesn't look raw and swollen as it used to. :)

Tips I learned along the way:
(in no particular order)

1. Always always remember to make sure that your hands are clean before touching your face to prevent bacteria and that goes to whatever touches your face (e.g pillow, towels, cotton etc.)

2. As much as possible do a patch test before using anything on your face, check expiration dates of your makeups, skincare and all things you apply on your skin.

3. Consult a dermatologist.

4. Check for ingredients you may be allergic of.

5. Research :)

6. Exfoliate at least once or twice a week to unclog pores and remove product build ups.

Fast forward to present: my skin's not perfect, I still have pimples and pimple marks/dark spots on my face but it can be easily covered by make up. I am now on search for the perfect products and regime that will make my face look like how it was before I broke up badly.
I still have a long way to go before having clear and healthy skin again but I won't give up :)

how my face looks like now (just woke up)

Sorry if i bore you into my acne story =P
I just want to reach out to those ladies who's been battling with acne that there's still hope, with proper  medication and all. :)

Disclaimer: What works for me may not work for you and vice versa, so i didn't put what brands and products I've tried and used.
